This compilation of the worst acting ever just made my day.
Could Jackie Chan get any cooler? Tired of his homes being a magnet for tourists, Jackie design this home to look like a factory in an industrial part of Hong Kong. Inside the home is filled with secret room after secret room. Just awesome.
So this is pretty ballsy. This random dude dresses in a tux, holds a fake oscar, and walks around Hollywood Blvd on Oscar night to see what happens. From the youtube description:
“Have you ever imagined what it’d be like to be an Oscar winner? Me too. Welcome to the fake oscar prank. In it, I pretend to be a celebrity and walk around with a fake oscar to see how people treat me. Pretending to be famous has its perks because it turns out people treat you like a real oscar winner. You may have seen fake celebrity pranks and pretending to be famous before, but I think being a fake oscar winner is the craziest prank of these yet!”
I couldn’t be more excited about this movie! ‘District 9’ blew me away, and ‘Elysium’ (for all it’s flaws) was also a pretty damn good movie. So I’ve got some high hopes for Neill Blompkamp’s new flick ‘Chappie’. At first I was a little taken aback when I heard Die Antwoord was going to be in it, but they just might work out. ‘Chappie’ opens March 6th.
What would happen if ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ was an 80s sitcom? I’ve often stayed awake all night wondering. Well wonder no more thanks to this video which recut the movie with the theme song to ‘Who’s the Boss’.
What the fuck did I just watch? Apparently this is from a 1991 movie called ‘Ruben and Ed’ starring Crispin Glover. I don’t know much about it other than the fact that I have to see it.
Sad news today as Leonard Nimoy (spock) passed away at the age if 83. The NY Times has a good article which you can read here.
Screen Junkies just posted this awesome supercut of fake movies in movies.
So this looks awesome. I’ll let the youtube description tell you about it…
“In 1982, three 11-year-olds in Mississippi decided to remake Raiders of the Lost Ark. It took them 7 turbulent years that tested their resolve, strained their friendships, and nearly burned down their parents house. They completed every scene except one… the airplane scene. 33 years later, the friends reunite to finally finish the childhood dream. But is it easier to film a whole movie as kids… or one scene as adults?”
Am I going to watch this documentary…you bet your ass I am. As someone who, as a kid, used to make movies with his friends this is going to hit the nostalgia button hard.
So apparently this video was uploaded 1 year ago and has over 8 million views…so how the hell have I not seen it before!! It has everything you could ask for: a skateboard gang, a power glove, a weird viking woman with a machine gun, a giant shirtless viking dude, and of course kung fu fighting Hitler…
I know this is a few days old, but it’s an awesome/funny gritty “reboot” of The Power Rangers.
By now you know that Birdman took home best picture at the Oscars, an award well deserved in my humble opinion. Today Fox Searchlight put out an awesome fake commercial for a Birdman action figure (something I would totally would buy if they actually released it).
If you remember Fox Searchlight previously released a trailer for “Birdman Returns”.
If you’ve never checked out the “Every Frame a Painting” videos I recommend you do that right away. Basically they’re video essays on different topics in film and filmmaking. Every video is worth a look, but here’s one on the best action star in the world (and if you don’t agree that’s fine but you’re wrong), Jackie Chan. And why the action in his movies are far superior than the normal Hollywood action junk that’s out there.
A funny montage, not sure it needs to be 5 mins long but watch as long as your attention span lasts.
